The Story Behind the Stage

He Was Told He'd Never Make It.

His piano professor at a major university looked him in the eye and said it directly: "You should quit music and do something else." He'd already failed the music school entrance exam twice and passed the third time. He was dyslexic — and didn't know it yet. He built his own learning systems just to survive.

He didn't follow his professor's advice. His dream wouldn't let him listen. That rejection became the first chapter of a sixty-year career12,000+ live performances, authored a book on how he did it 'YOU CAN MAKE MONEY IN MUSIC', 20+ albums streaming in 70 countries, a Guinness World Record, a cancer diagnosis in 2017, hearing loss, tinnitus, COVID — and not a single show missed.

"I didn't have a plan. I had a dream. And eventually I built a framework around that dream that carried me through everything."

That framework is what Craig now teaches from the stage — to music students, student leaders, and performing arts programs across Southern California and beyond.

What Makes This Different
This Is Not a
Motivational Speaker.
This Is a Keynote Concert.

A Keynote Concert is a single, unified experience — live storytelling and live music working together — where story drives the structure, and music provides the emotional punctuation that makes the message impossible to forget. Students don't just hear it. They feel it.

Craig plays acoustic and electric guitar, piano and keys, harmonica, banjo, bass, and drums — and demonstrates the CHORD framework live, the way a musician practices: slow first, then up to speed.

S

Story

60 years of real narrative — dyslexia, rejection, cancer, 12,000 shows — woven live into every program.

M

Music

Live performance — not background — integrated into the message so students feel the framework, not just understand it.

F

Framework

Practical tools students take home: the CHORD framework and the Triple R™ — built for real life, not a classroom.

A

Action

Students leave with specific, personal commitments — not just inspiration that fades on the drive home.

This Program Is For

Every Student Who Has Ever
Been Told No.

Craig's programs are designed for every student who carries a dream they've started talking themselves out of — and every educator who wants to give them a reason not to.

🎼
Music Departments

Conservatory students, performance majors, music theory classes, ensembles. Strike a Chord uses the language of music — technique, practice, performance — as the vehicle for the CHORD framework.

🏛️
Universities & Colleges

Speaker series, convocations, leadership programs, freshman orientation, honors programs. The Triple R™ gives students a framework for navigating higher education and what comes after.

🎓
High School Programs

Assemblies, performing arts programs, ASB leadership days, senior events. Craig's story — dyslexia, rejection, 12,000 shows — lands with high school students in a way most adult speakers cannot achieve.

🎤
Student Leadership & ASB

Leadership retreats, student government events, campus-wide programs. The Triple R™ gives student leaders a practical roadmap for their own resilience and tools for leading others through adversity.

🎭
Performing Arts Programs

Theatre, dance, vocal programs, marching band, orchestra. Craig's framework is built on the same discipline that makes performers great: practice, repetition, showing up regardless of how you feel.

🏫
Community Colleges

Transfer students, returning adults, first-generation students. Craig's story of thriving without the conventional path resonates deeply with students who feel like they don't fit the standard mold.

Keynote Concert Programs

Two Programs Built
for Music & Student Audiences

Rediscovered Purpose = Results
Strike a Chord — Craig Colley Keynote Concert

At some point, the music stops — not because you quit, but because somewhere between the dream and the daily grind, the reason got buried. This keynote concert uses live music and one of the most unusual careers in American entertainment to show what happens when a musician reconnects to the purpose that started everything.

Craig demonstrates each step of the CHORD framework with live music — playing guitar and piano the way a musician practices: slow first, then up to speed. Music students hear their own craft as the vehicle for a framework they can apply immediately.

Students Leave With

The CHORD framework — a purpose-to-results roadmap — and the clarity to act on what actually matters, starting the next day.

The Rhythm of Relevant Resilience™ — Craig Colley Keynote Concert

Resilience isn't something you wait for — it's something you practice until it becomes your rhythm. This keynote concert doesn't just talk about resilience. It demonstrates it — live on stage — through a 60-year story of showing up, adapting, and refusing to let disruption be the end of the story.

Perfect for assemblies, leadership days, senior events, convocations, and any moment when students need more than a motivational talk — they need a framework and a story they'll actually carry with them.

Students Leave With

The Triple R™ framework — a personal resilience roadmap built around Dream, Rhythm, Relevant, Resilience, and Result.

The Triple R™ Framework

Three Forces.
One Unbreakable Rhythm.

R
Rhythm

Consistent action connected to what drives you. The daily practice that keeps a musician sharp is what keeps a person performing through adversity.

R
Relevant

Adapting to what matters most. Staying essential as the world shifts — in music, career, and life. Not chasing trends; becoming indispensable.

Rhythm
Build daily habits that make resilience automatic
Relevant

Resilience
Turn adversity into fuel — every time
